Capital Custody, Fund Safety & Account Ownership
Why your trading capital and Demat holdings never leave your personal broker account
1.1 Does MudraVault ever hold, pool, or have withdrawal access to my trading money?
Never. MudraVault is a 100% non-custodial software platform. You never deposit trading capital into MudraVault. Your trading cash and equity holdings remain exclusively inside your own personal, SEBI-registered broker account (such as Zerodha Kite or Dhan) and your personal CDSL/NSDL Demat account.
Official broker APIs (such as Zerodha Kite Connect) do not even possess an API endpoint for bank fund withdrawals. Even with an active API connection, it is mathematically and technically impossible for any third-party software to transfer money out of your broker account—all payouts from your broker go strictly to your own verified Primary Bank Account.
1.2 What happens to my stocks and money if MudraVault goes offline or I cancel my plan?
Your money and shares remain 100% untouched in your personal Zerodha/Dhan account. Because all orders are placed directly on your broker account in real time, you have full visibility and manual control over every position on your broker's mobile app or web terminal at all times.
1.3 Does MudraVault take a percentage of my trading profits (Profit-Sharing)?
Zero profit-sharing. Under SEBI regulations, unapproved profit-sharing arrangements are prohibited for technology providers. MudraVault charges a simple, flat software subscription fee (₹499, ₹1,499, or ₹9,999/month). Whether you trade with ₹10,000 or ₹50,00,000, you keep 100% of your trading profits.
1.4 What if my broker itself (e.g., Zerodha) faces an outage or shuts down?
In India, your delivery stocks (`CNC`) and ETFs are held directly by the central depository (CDSL / NSDL) under your unique 16-digit Beneficiary Owner (BO) ID—not on the broker's balance sheet. Furthermore, SEBI mandates daily upstreaming of idle client cash to Clearing Corporations (NCL/ICCL) and provides NSE/BSE Investor Protection Fund (IPF) coverage up to ₹25 Lakhs for uninvested cash.
Pricing Tiers, 7-Day Trial & Subscription Billing
Comparing Starter (₹499), Pro Algo (₹1,499), and Power Trader (₹9,999)
2.1 What is the exact difference between Starter, Pro Algo, and Power Trader?
- Starter (₹499/mo or ₹3,999/yr): Built for manual swing traders and learners. Gives full access to the 30-Minute Dynamic Momentum Radar, NIFTY 50 Relative Strength (RS) scans, and the Sandbox Paper-Trading Engine using live market prices without risking real money. Does not include live automated broker order placement.
- Pro Algo (₹1,499/mo or ₹11,999/yr): Built for individual systematic traders. Unlocks Full Autonomous Live Execution via Zerodha Kite Connect / Dhan APIs, the Safe Money Reserve Vault (One-Way Profit Ratchet), User-Defined Per-Trade Risk Shields, Real-Time Postback Sync, and WhatsApp trade alerts.
- Power Trader (₹9,999/mo): Built for high-capital proprietary swing desks and multi-strategy accounts. Adds Multi-Strategy Concurrent Routing, priority order queue dispatch, custom capital vault sizing, dedicated worker allocation, and priority engineering triage with a 99.9% internal web platform SLA.
2.2 How does the 7-Day Paper-Trading Trial work?
When you sign up, you can test the entire platform in Sandbox Paper-Trading Mode before linking a live broker API key or enabling live capital execution. Paper-trading simulates realistic fills, brokerage, STT, GST, and slippage against real-time NSE/BSE prices so you can verify how your capital caps and risk shields behave in live market conditions.
2.3 Are broker API fees (like Zerodha Kite Connect) included in the MudraVault subscription?
MudraVault operates on a 100% BYO-Broker Key (Bring Your Own Key) model to comply with SEBI's strict retail algorithmic guidelines. Any API fee charged by your chosen broker (for example, Zerodha Kite Connect's developer API subscription or Dhan's free trading APIs) is billed directly between you and your broker, separate from your MudraVault software subscription.
2.4 Can I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes. There are zero lock-in contracts or cancellation penalties. You can pause autonomous trading with 1 click or cancel your recurring plan directly from your Dashboard Settings at any time. Annual plans (₹3,999/yr Starter and ₹11,999/yr Pro Algo) provide an instant 33% discount (4 months free) compared to monthly billing.
Safe Money Reserve Vault (One-Way Ratchet) & Capital Shields
How mathematical capital ceilings protect your account from over-trading
3.1 How does the "Safe Money Reserve Vault" (One-Way Ratchet) work?
The biggest killer of retail traders is compounding a winning morning into an oversized afternoon loss. MudraVault solves this with a One-Way Profit Ratchet:
- You configure three hard numbers in your dashboard: Max Trading Capital (e.g., ₹50,000), Safe Money Reserve Floor (e.g., ₹10,000), and Max Per-Trade Risk Cap.
- Whenever a trade closes in net profit (after STT, brokerage, and GST), the ratchet automatically sweeps a designated percentage of that realized profit into your Algorithmic Locked Vault.
- Once capital enters the Safe Money Reserve Vault, the algorithm is mathematically forbidden from touching or re-risking that money on subsequent trades. Your reserve floor only moves UP—never down.
3.2 Why can't I immediately withdraw today's locked profit from Zerodha on the same afternoon?
While MudraVault's Safe Money Reserve Vault locks your profits instantly inside our software (so the bot cannot re-bet them on the same day), actual bank withdrawals from your broker are governed by SEBI and Indian Clearing Corporation (`NCL` / `ICCL`) `T+1` settlement laws:
- Day `T` (Trade Day): Your original principal margin unlocks immediately when a trade closes, while your realized profit is locked by the exchange clearing house overnight.
- Day `T+1` (Next Working Day): The profit officially settles into your broker ledger and becomes available for standard or instant bank withdrawal on your Zerodha Console / Dhan app. (Note: Friday profits settle on Monday evening/Tuesday due to weekend clearing holidays).
3.3 What happens if I have ₹5,00,000 in my Zerodha account, but I only want the bot to use ₹25,000?
Simply set your Max Trading Capital Ceiling to `₹25,000` in your MudraVault Dashboard. Even if your Zerodha Kite balance shows ₹5,00,000 of free cash or pledged collateral, the MudraVault sizing engine will strictly cap all position sizing to your ₹25,000 allocation and ignore the remaining ₹4,75,000.
Broker API Sync, Daily Token Rules & Manual Mobile Exits
Seamless coexistence between MudraVault and your Zerodha Kite mobile app
4.1 What happens if I manually close a bot trade from my Zerodha Kite mobile app? ("Panic Collision" Prevention)
On primitive trading bots, if you manually sell an open position on your phone, the bot doesn't realize you exited and later fires its own stop-loss sell order—accidentally opening a dangerous naked short position!
MudraVault eliminates this completely via Real-Time Broker Postback Webhooks & Pre-Exit Position Verification. The millisecond you manually exit a trade on the Zerodha Kite mobile app or web terminal, Zerodha sends an instant postback signal to your MudraVault account, which immediately cancels any internal trailing stop and marks the trade `CLOSED (Manual Exit)`.
4.2 Why do Zerodha API sessions refresh every morning before 9:15 AM?
By SEBI and NSE/BSE cybersecurity mandate, all Indian retail broker OAuth access tokens automatically expire every morning between 5:00 AM and 7:30 AM IST. You can either click the 1-Click Broker Sync button on your dashboard each morning before 9:00 AM, or configure your TOTP key inside your encrypted Zero-Knowledge Vault for automated morning session readiness.
4.3 Does MudraVault support Static IP Whitelisting required by SEBI's 2025/2026 Retail Algo norms?
Yes. Retail brokers (Zerodha Kite Connect and Dhan HQ) require you to whitelist a fixed static IP address when creating your API credentials. Inside your MudraVault Dashboard Onboarding screen, we provide our verified Dedicated Static Execution IP along with your exact Redirect URL and Postback URL for 60-second copy-paste setup.
Execution Safeguards, Spread Filters & Emergency Kill Switch
How MudraVault prevents freak trades, illiquid traps, and RMS rejection loops
5.1 How does MudraVault protect me from "Freak Trades" and wide bid-ask slippage?
MudraVault enforces two mandatory pre-trade defenses on every single order:
- Pre-Trade Bid-Ask Spread Sanity Filter: Before sending any order, the engine inspects live Level-1 market depth (`Best Bid` vs. `Best Ask`). If an equity stock's spread exceeds `2.0%` (or `5.0%` on options) due to sudden illiquidity or stub quotes, the trade is automatically aborted before it can fill at a bad price.
- Market Price Protection (Bounded Limit Orders): Instead of firing blind raw Market Orders (`SL-M` is banned on options by NSE), MudraVault dispatches context-aware Marketable Limit Orders bounded within a tight slippage band so you never suffer flash-crash price spikes.
5.2 What happens if my broker rejects an order due to Insufficient Margin or an Surveillance Ban?
If Zerodha/Dhan RMS rejects an order (e.g., due to insufficient free funds, a `T2T / ASM / GSM` surveillance restriction, an `F&O MWPL 95% Ban`, or Zerodha's `15% OI` far-OTM Nudge restriction), MudraVault's RMS Rejection Quarantine Engine immediately places that symbol into a 60-minute cooldown quarantine. This guarantees the bot will never spam your broker API in a retry loop or get your API key rate-limited.
5.3 How does the Emergency Panic Kill Switch work vs. Zerodha's Console Kill Switch?
Understanding the difference between the two kill switches is vital:
- MudraVault 1-Click Panic Kill Switch (Dashboard): Instantly disables autonomous trading AND automatically fires market/limit square-off orders to close all open bot positions first, so you are flat in cash within seconds.
- Zerodha Console Segment Kill Switch: Disables an entire trading segment (e.g., Equity or F&O) at the broker level for a mandatory, unbreakable 12-hour cooldown, but does NOT close open positions. Always click the MudraVault Kill Switch (or manually exit all positions) before toggling Zerodha's Console Kill Switch!
Statutory Taxes, Brokerage, DP Charges & Net P&L Ledger
Why MudraVault always calculates Net Realized P&L after all government and broker deductions
6.1 Does my MudraVault Dashboard show Gross P&L or Net P&L after taxes and brokerage?
Unlike broker `Positions` screens that show inflated Gross P&L during market hours, MudraVault's built-in Indian Statutory Tax Engine calculates both Gross P&L and True Net Realized P&L on every closed trade by automatically deducting:
- Brokerage: ₹0 for Equity Delivery (`CNC`), or 0.03% / ₹20 per executed order for Intraday (`MIS`) & F&O.
- STT (Securities Transaction Tax): 0.025% on Intraday Equity sell; 0.1% on Equity Delivery buy & sell; 0.1% on Option sell; 0.02% on Futures sell.
- Exchange Turnover Charges, SEBI Fees (`₹10/Cr`), Stamp Duty, and 18% GST.
6.2 What are CDSL DP Charges (`₹15.34`) and when do they apply?
Whenever you sell stocks or ETFs from your long-term Demat holdings (`CNC` Delivery) on a subsequent day (`T+1` or later), CDSL and Zerodha levy a flat Depository Participant (DP) charge of ₹13 + 18% GST = ₹15.34 per ISIN (scrip) per day (₹15.05 for female primary holders), regardless of quantity sold. Intraday (`MIS`) trades and F&O trades never touch your Demat account and therefore incur ₹0 DP charges.
6.3 Can I deduct my MudraVault subscription fee as a business expense in my ITR-3 tax filing?
Under the Indian Income Tax Act, Intraday Equity (`MIS`) is classified as Speculative Business Income and Futures & Options (`F&O`) is classified as Non-Speculative Business Income filed under ITR-3. Most Chartered Accountants permit deducting legitimate software subscriptions, broker API fees, STT, brokerage, and GST directly against business trading income. (Always consult your qualified Chartered Accountant for your specific tax filing).
